The Earl Of Wessex has been announced as the new Royal patron of British Ski and Snowboard (BSS), the national governing body for snowsports.

The appointment follows BSS's most successful season to date, which included 15 World Cup podiums, three World Championship podiums, and three X-Games medals. President of BSS Sir John Ritblat commented 'With the Winter Olympic Games fast approaching, this is a tremendously exciting time for British snowsports. We are delighted that His Royal Highness will be supporting the journey of our athletes to emulate the success of their summer sports compatriots at the upcoming Games and in the years to come'.
